Because Everybody Is Entitled To My Opinion

"O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, . . . in wrath remember mercy" (Habakkuk 3:2).
"Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?" (Psalm 85:6)

I Was Just Wondering

Now that Obama is President-elect, does that mean that America is past racism? If so then we can do away with the so called hate crimes laws.  I mean we have proven we don't hate anymore as a nation so we should be able to get back to judging crimes based on the criminal and not the socio-political/ethnic background of the victim right? After all we aren't racist anymore because we elected a black man President right?  What's your thought?

And while it may be difficult for me to swallow, I have come to terms with the inevitable Obama Presidency. I can visualize Barak Hussein Obama as America's executive leader, far more easily than I can visualize Michelle Obama as First Lady.  But to be 100% honest I think She'll be a better First Lady  than Teresa Heinz Kerry would have been. What do you think?

It's not that America has gotten past bigotry and racism, it's that Obama was elected in for either his being the lesser of two evils, as my daughter put it, or because people bought in to his promises of everything for everyone.

As for the new first lady: not good, but better than other possibilities.

I'm not sure that Obama's election doesn't show just how racist we still are. Many people - both black and white - voted for him primarily because of his color. I think that is just as wrong as voting against him for the same reason.

I wish we could get rid of all the racist crap. I do beleive its now nothing more than media driven crap a this point and this election should help prove that americans don't care about color.

On CSPAN today, there was an election analysis, and it was a room full of black Americans, sitting around saying that America is still racist, and spinning all he demographics to mold their needs. It was disgusting to watch.

While we're at it, can we get rid of the term "African American", as i find that term offensive, I'm from America, I was born in America, my parents were born in America, just because I'm black, doesn't mean I'm African.

We need more change, and some help in a small Ohio town called East Liverpool.

I feel ya Dave. I use Black almost exclusively. I never wanted to be identified with Africa because no one in my family has any idea where in Africa our roots are.

And I have heard of East Liverpool and have some good friends who used to live there until they heard the siren call of Floridian living.
