Because Everybody Is Entitled To My Opinion

"O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, . . . in wrath remember mercy" (Habakkuk 3:2).
"Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?" (Psalm 85:6)

13 Things About Dane Bramage
13 TV Shows I would Like to Be a Character On.

Ever wanted to be one of the "Friends"? Me neither they were weird. But there were plenty other shows that I watched and thought, "Hey it would be cool to be a character on that show." So here are 13 shows that I would like to have been a character on.

  1. Star Trek Man ever since I was a kid I wanted to boldly go where no man had gone before. I could have been a bridge officer. I quickly learned that I didn't want to wear a red shirt on that ship though.

  2. The Name of The Game I imagined myself working for Gene Barry as the editor/reporter of his only Black magazine. These days though I think reporters rarely investigate beyond their hotels.

  3. Search Hi tech spy/anti-terrorist organization. I would have liked to be a base operative working with Burgess Meredith

  4. Space 1999 I would have liked to been on Moon Base Alpha when it took off and started exploring the galaxy.

  5. Dr. Who How cool would it be to go tooling around the time-space continuum with Tom Baker or Sylvester McCoy? The current Doctor isn't bad but his writers can get preachy and anti-American at times.

  6. UFO I know this is the third British Sci-Fi show in a row but they did have some good ones. I thought it would be great to be part of a super secret defense force protecting the Earth from alien invaders. I think I would be an interceptor pilot blowing UFOs out of space before they reach Earth.

  7. Hill Street Blues I thought it would be cool to be one of the men in blue of the Hill Street precinct. I don't do undercover well so I guess I would be a hard nosed, by-the-book detective.

  8. Star Trek: Voyager I confess I had doubts about the show in the beginning but it grew on me. I wanted to be an officer who ultimately married the voluptuous and deadly Seven of Nine. She could assimilate me anytime.

  9. TimeTrax I wanted to be a second cop sent to the past to recapture escaped felons from the future.

  10. M*A*S*H You know they had a black doctor at the 4077th for the first episode(I guess they didn't feel comfortable calling him Spear-Chucker). I thought they needed one. Before Larry Linville left, I wanted to be a Black Winchester. Mad skills, sharp wit, high intellect, and class with a capital C. They must have thought the same way but made him white.

  11. Northern Exposure I thought that after the neurotic jewish doctor left, a funky fresh black urban doctor could set up practice in Cicely.

  12. Buffy The Vampire Slayer I was feeling too old to be one of the "Scooby Gang" but I could see myself as a militant watcher type of person. Special training and techno/arcane gadgets to fight evil darkness.

  13. Starrgate Atlantis Taking up residence in the Pegasus galaxy as a member of the military team. Or sometimes I imagine my character as a resident alien fighting the good fight against the Wraith.

So is there a show you wanted to be part of?

Oh yea...count me in on Star Trek, but add in Next Generation. I always thought that Wesley Crusher needed an older woman, or a young fling for Riker. Also I would LOVE to be on the Stargate SG1. I need to step through the gate just once!

Happy TT.

I was never a big Wesley fan. I know part of the problem early on was the "Wesley saves the Ship" syndrome. But I have never met anyone who wanted to romance him. I do like Wil Wheaton though and have read his blog. He seems like a nice albeit liberal kind of guy.

You know I have never really thought of this! Cool list!

What a cool idea... I never thought about the shows I'd want to be on. Rather, I always wanted to import those peoples' world into mine.

I'd like to be in the original Star Trek... but not as the security guy who beams down to the planet with the gang and is always killed in the first 5 minutes.

"a funky fresh black urban doctor" might have kept Northern Exposure going for a few more seasons. I know the new doc never caught my attention.

I'm so with you on the Star Trek thing. I think one thing that made that series great is the mix of characters - black, white, green, blue, old, young, fat, thin. Everyone could fit into the crew. My favorites were the original and Voyager.

I stumbled across your blog and had to leave a comment. In high school "Dane Bramage" was a very big joke between me and two of my friends.

Upon seeing this name in lights it sparked a quick trip down memory. Thanks for the journey

The reason that there was not a black doctor after the first season of MASH was that the writers did some reasearch. They found that there were no black doctors in the Korean war.

Since when did M*A*S*H writers care about historical accuracy? There was a black doctor in the movie, what more history did they need for a television show? It's not like they were doing a documentary.

Oh I remember Hill Street Blues, cutting edge way back then! It would be fun to be a character on Northern Exposure! Have a great weekend.

Excellent list. My favorite is Mash. I so related to that show. I just don't want to be Hot Lips. Oh no. Have a great day and weekend. :)

Ours is an envionment where evil is perceived to be rewarded while good is punished. As with everything the Gods have a reason for creating this perception::::
People who fall on the good side of the good/evil scale have more favor, and when they do something wrong the Gods punish them BECAUSE THEY WANT THEM TO LEARN. The Gods want them to receive this feedback in hope they make corrections and begin to behave appropriately. The Gods DON'T like evil and refuse to grant this feedback.
EVERYBODY pays for what they do wrong, only evil people must wait until their next life before they will experience the wrath of the Gods, manifested in their reincarnation as a lower form of life into environments with increased/enhanced temptations.
Sadly, this allows the Gods to position this perception of evil rewarded as temptation, one which they use as an EXTREMELY effective corruptor.

Both Africa and the Medittereanean are regions which have sexual issues. This is a sign of morbid disfavor once you understand that females are the God's favored gender. Muhammad's (Mohammed's) polygamy halfway through his life as a prophet was preditory. Now a huge percentage of Muslims believes in male superiority and that the abuse of women is God's will. Female genital mutilation is still practiced in Africa. Black misogyny is the most eggregious example in the recent past.
Black member size is temptation to a predisposed population.
The patriarchal cancer spread throughout Europe because of Christianity, of which the majority of policy makers were Italian men. Expect the largest landowner in Europe and the continent's original superpower also played a major role in African slavery.

Militancy in Africa is consistant with the Iraqi example, as was slavery and the KKK here in America:::Fear enforces proper behavior. Without it we see what happens as a result of gross/morbid disfavor:::::AIDS, crack babies, dead young men in gangland retaliation killings. This is the purpose behind many black's historical tendancy towards resistance.
The same principle was true in Europe and throughout the world for centuries:::People whom lived under iron fists were conditioned to think the right way. As a result they experienced higher numbers of children accend into heaven because they were taught to think and behave appropriately, which they passed on to their children. Our preditory envionment of "freedom" was the primary purpose the Gods had when implimenting this strategy that is the United States, one which they used to spred the cancer of democracy and westernization throughout the world. And the Gods use this tool that is America to prey on the disfavored both at home and abroad:::Much like the ghetto, America in general experiences a heightened level of temptation due to the people's disfavor.

Even the Old Testiment is not to be taken literally, but the Gods do offer clues throughout to help the disfavored:::The apple is a tool of temptation used to corrupt Adam and Eve and cast them out of the Garden of Eden.
There is another lesson to be learned from this passage, and it is quite similar to the vailing issue and the discourse over women's attire which ultimately died in the 70s:::Women are responsible for and control the fate of mankind.

Think about what I say. Consider what I teach. Society is going to become disturbingly ugly as we approach the Apocalypse due to spiralling, runaway disfavor.
I do not know when this will occurr, but it is the God's way to grant some time before they end on Planet Earth.
Make the decision to always be good and never look back. Until you do this technology will employ tactics to test your resolve:::Ridicule, beligerance, doubt and refusal to abandon what people perceive to be their "investment".
Pray daily. Think appropriately. Too many are confident, unaware of the God's awesome powers or their status as antients. Others may fall prey to their positioning.
Be humbled, God-fearing and beware of the God's temptations, for everyone is tested to evaluate their worthiness.
