An interesting thing just happened to me. I walked across the street to the little deli and ordered lunch. They fixed it up for me (although I wonder sometimes how much mayonnaise they would normally put on a sandwich. I ask for light mayo and they still apply a spatula full on a six inch sub). I decided to use my bank card and the lady rang it up and printed the receipt for my signature.
"Just put your John Henry right here" she said.
John Henry? I know he was a steel driving man but I didn't know he was associated with signatures like John Hancock. Maybe white people put their John Hancocks on documents and black people put on their John Henrys.
Now the difference between me and a liberal race baiter is that I found the whole thing interesting and a little amusing. A liberal would have been offended. They might have even sued for damages seeing how they have been treated so differently!
"O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, . . . in wrath remember mercy" (Habakkuk 3:2).
"Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?" (Psalm 85:6)

Where Are We Going and Why Are We In This Handbasket
Want to see me cry and at the same time be so mad I would gladly rip someone's head off? Tell me a story like this one. Toddler Left in Hot Car Dies at Hooters It is a video spot so you need Windows Media Player.
A woman goes to work at Hooters at 10:00 in the morning and forgets she left her 17 month old son in the car. FORGOT HE WAS IN THE CAR! How frickkin' stupid do you have to be to do something like that? Or how little does a child rate in your life that working at Hooters can make you fatally neglect him? An investigation is going on but no charges have been filed as yet.
And this is not the only case like this. Back in August here in Ohio a woman, an assistant principal, left her two year old daughter in her hot SUV while she worked. The child died. The mother was not charged even though she had been captured on film returning to her car, twice, for the donuts she brought for a meeting (pictured here).

We had a case that was even worse than that here a few years ago. A woman goes to a salon to have her hair done. It is sweltering hot, over 100 degrees, and she leaves her two kids in the car with the windows up. She is gone over seven hours and she comes out to find her kids dead. Then she decides that she is in trouble and claims that she was kidnapped from the scene which prevented her from coming back in time to save her kids. Her lie quickly fell apart and she was charged. When they found the kids, the older boy had held his baby brother as if to comfort him. Both had vomited before dying.
How did we get to this place where womem are increasingly less maternal towards their children to the point that kids have died? And in the two recent cases why has no one held the parents accountable for their fatal neglegence?

Camera Phone Photos
I took these with my cell phone. Funny I was one of those people who thought that I would never get a camera phone but thanks to the fine folks at Verizon and their "New Every Two" policy I was able to get one this time around. It cost me nothing, (I have had the same cell number for nine years and people think I'm a freak.)
I love my LG 8300 which is also bluetooth capable. Which means the Uconnect in my Dodge Magnum recognizes it every time I get in the car. How come no one told me I've arrived?
Anyway I took this of my bus kids. They are about to learn how it is to be treated like a Hebrew slave. Click on the image to view full size;

Yes; they are going to pull the bus! Oh sure they were little whiners.
"Mr. Bramage I don't want to pull the bus".
"Mr. Bramage I feel sick and can't pull the bus".
"Mr Bramage my momma said never to pull 68 capacity buses"
Little wusses. Couldn't even pull a couple tons. Oh sure, other Bus Captains' kids pulled their buses but not mine. Just wait till they have to build a pyramid Some day!

Well you have to look at the full version of this one to make out the details. Details I am quite amazed the phone picked up. As I was going into church that morning I noticed this chopper fly over to the high tension wires in the middle of the church property. Some guy who was standing on the runner the whole time fiddled with something up there while the chopper hovered next to the pole. It was quite amazing.

So
Now I am glad I got the camera phone. I always have a camera with me. Now if only I remember that. I had celebrities walk past me at Origins and Gen Con and then I remembered I had a camera phone. Yeesh.

I Voted Today- NOT!
For the last month or so there have been reminders all over town to "REMEMBER TO VOTE ON SEPTEMBER 11TH". Well I remembered and went to the polling place this morning. I showed my proper I.D. I was a amazed at the huge notice declaring that poll workers would not ask for positive proof of citizenship. Made me wonder how many illegals were voting. But that's a subject for another post. I was all set to cast my ballot when the worker looked at me and said;
Sir, you are registered as a Republican. This is a Democratic election. You can still vote if you want to but you have to change your party affiliation.Ha! Nice try comrade. Okay I should have known something was up it being only September but I wasn't sure if there were some special issues that needed addressed or what. I wanted to be safe rather than sorry. Besides you think with all the bazillion reminder signs about voting today, at least one would have mentioned Democrats Only. I plead insanity. My life has been crazy and I thought it would be over by now (my situation not my life) but the drama continues.

Hee Ah Lee
You have to see this video of Hee Ah Lee. To say it is inspirational is an understatement.

Poetic Justice
I found this knucklehead in the news. Man's plot to kill girlfriend ends with his death. Some guy decides to murder his girlfriend by leaving her in the car on the railroad tracks. As he is running from the car the train hits it and knocks the car into the man killing him! The woman survived. Sweet.

Easter Trouble
My favorite Easter story involves my late cat and took place before I knew Jesus and attended church. My cat's name was Trouble. Actually he started out as my mom’s cat. She got him as a kitten when we shared a house. He was so small when we got him. He would hide under things and attack our ankles. A few months after she got him I had to move to East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania for work. Mom decided (again) that she wanted to move to San Diego, california so she left Trouble in Ohio with my sister. I returned to Ohio after eight months and stayed with my sister for awhile. She made it clear that Trouble was MY cat.
And what a cat he was. He was a grey and white tabby. And he was HUGE!. I think a good 75% of his body mass was just attitude. Trouble was an outdoor cat and a perfect one at that. He could be found at the door in the morning waiting to come in. He would eat and occasionally nap but when he was ready he stood by the door and yelled until someone let him out. He would be gone all day and night and repeat the process. You couldn’t tell my sister had a cat because the litter box was always clean. Trouble never used it. He preferred to do his business outside.
And he was a man’s cat. I would find him in the morning with a squirrel, chipmunk or rabbit by the door. He was quite an accomplished hunter. Well I eventually got my own apartment but Trouble couldn’t come with me. No pets were allowed. It was okay though, he had become a fixture at my sister’s place and her three kids all loved him. He was still my cat so I had to take him to the vet for shots and pay for all his food and medicine.
A couple years later on Easter morning I arrived at my sister’s place and sitting by the door was Trouble. He had caught and killed a rabbit, easily as big as he was. He had ripped the leg off the creature and was enjoying his Easter feast. I was all puffed up with pride that my cat had brought down such a fine specimen. My sister who just happened to open the door while I stood there was less thrilled. She told me that I needed to get rid of that carcass (the rabbit’s) before her girls saw it. So I grabbed the dead meat and headed for the dumpster.
But before I could turn away from the door, my youngest niece, who was only three years old at the time came out and saw me with the dead rabbit. She saw Trouble licking his chops. She put two and two together and started screaming, “Trouble killed the Easter Bunny! Trouble killed the Easter Bunny!” Poor thing. We had to calm her down. My sister, being the quick thinker that she was said that it wasn’t the real Easter Bunny, it was a helper, like Santa Claus uses sometimes to sit with kids at the mall. But my niece was no fool. She insisted her mom call all her friends to make sure they got their Easter goodies.
Trouble obviously jumped him after he made his rounds that morning. The Easter Bunny helper was obviously tired from carrying all that candy so he couldn’t put up a fight or get away. Yeah, that’s what happened. That's our story and we're stickin' to it. We were just glad that all of my niece’s friends got baskets that Easter. She would have hated to tell them that the reason they didn’t get any candy was because her cat killed the Easter Bunny.
