Because Everybody Is Entitled To My Opinion

"O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, . . . in wrath remember mercy" (Habakkuk 3:2).
"Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?" (Psalm 85:6)

Messy Christian: When are you saved?

I was poking around the blogosphere and a link led me to Messy Christian.
The topic was "When are you saved?" This is a very important issue to have settled. I strongly advise anyone reading this to have it settled TODAY!

How do you settle it? Here are some verses form the King James Bible:
HOW TO BE SAVED
BELIEVE YOU ARE A LOST SINNER
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God:" Romans 3:23

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord "Romans 6:23

BELIEVE JESUS DIED FOR YOU
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us "Romans 5:8

BELIEVE GOD WILL SAVE YOU
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved " Romans 10:13

Is it really that simple? Yes. You see the there is a difference between salvation and conversion. Salvation takes just a moment that is why Jesus commanded us, as Christians, to all go out and share the Gospel. So when one of us fundies knocks on your door and asks "If you died today are you 100% sure you'd go to Heaven and if not would you like to be?" It is because we really believe you can make that decision in a moment. Just like the woman at the well, just like the thief on the cross, just like the Philipian jailer, and just like the Ethiopian eunuch.

Conversion takes longer. It makes since when you think about. You get saved and unless you are in the middle of a church service somewhere, 1 minute later you may not know all the commandments, the Thou Shalts and Thou Shalt Nots... Learning them takes time. Before we can have a walk with the Lord, we have to know Him first. This is where I think many churches fall short and where the confusion arises. It is important to help newly-saved people get on the right path in their new journey. Get them into a good church where they learn the Bible and how to apply it to their lives. If you don't they will miss being used of Jesus and not know the victory of living a surrendered life. I think that there are a lot of good religious people out there who try to walk the walk and talk the talk but they have never taken the first step. They don't know Jesus. They missed their moment because they thought it was too easy or they didn't believe Jesus would take them as they were and they needed to "clean up their act" before getting saved. If you are one of these people I cannot stress this enough. IT REALLY IS THAT EASY! And you are saved the moment you believe.
