Another installment of WAWGAWAWITH finds a mother suddenly stabs her children to death. The story gives no reason. The father comes home with a friend that was living with the family to discover the scene. The children ages 9 and 3 were stabbed over 100 times and evidence suggests that they tried to fight off their "attacker" (in other words, their Mom). Interestingly enough, this is not the first tragedy that has befallen this family. In 2000 a fire in their home claimed the life of their 3 month old baby. Officials say they originally had no reason to suspect foul play but now they are going to reopen the investigation.
Okay now you can call me anything you want but I am going to suggest that maybe this is a case of demon possession. Some of you may ask, "Do you really believe in demon possession?" Fair question and the answer is unequivocally yes! Jesus and His Disciples spent a great deal of time casting out demons and devils. The Bible makes it clear that these creatures existed during Jesus' time so why not today? It would explain such evil behavior. The more progressive Christians among you may not believe in demons and will chalk this up to mental illness. I am sure this woman will receive a whole battery of psych evaluations and they will all say she's crazy. There is no test for demon possession however. Now I don't subscribe to that whole William Peter Blatty-Exorcist type possession. That is too blatant. But I believe some lost people are possessed by demons and saved Christians are oppressed by demons. As we get closer to the return of Jesus, the demons become more active. Their time is running out. So we are going to see more stories like this. And that is a real shame.

The Saudi daily Al-Jazirah reported that 40 men, women, and children with Pakistani citizenship were arrested on April 21, 2005 after performing Christian religious rites in an apartment in the Thaharat Al-Badi'a neighborhood in western Riyadh. The arrest was part of a sweeping police operation by the Riyadh District Police, at the order of Riyadh Governor Prince Salman bin Abd Al-'Aziz.
The paper reported that the operation came after Saudi religious police known as the Authority for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice followed and collected information on the activity of the 40, who listened to a proselytizing lecture by a Pakistani minister.
So am I mad or what? Obviously I disapprove of Muslim religious police coming down on the Christians. I know that in many Muslim nations these people would have just "vanished" and would have never been heard from again. I applaud the courage of these men and women who at the risk of their freedom and their very lives practice Christianity in a heathen nation.
As American Christians we often take it for granted that we can get up Sunday morning and go to the church of our choice to study the Word of God without fear of losing our property or freedom. How many would continue to do so if the persecution that these people face was rampant in our land? In that respect I can praise these people.
However; later in the article it mentions
The Saudi daily Al-Riyadh said that the detainees had set up a church in the apartment, equipped with crosses, pictures, and statues. Likewise, it was said that during their religious activity, one of them was found praying, as the others present repeated their words, and one of the women arrested was listing the people's confessions and distributing writs of absolution. The Al-Riyadh report included a photo of the detainees and of a large cross and the group which was arrested.
So what form of Christianity were they practicing? Since I don't know all the details I will refrain from making judgment. Not because I believe all forms of Christianity are valid. I don't. But because I don't know for sure if the official report from the Authority for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice can be trusted to provide accurate details. Remember, Saudi Arabia is our "ally". But they have made no effort to hide their total disdain for America and especially Christianity. I hope that these 40 individuals know Christ in Truth. It would be a shame for them to suffer this persecution over a counterfeit savior.

I am sorry to hear about both your abortion and your inability to track down the father of your child. But, after a month's absence, it sure is great to see you again. Yes, of course, I can give you some extra consideration for the trauma you have been through. I usually give extra credit for things like extra work but an abortion seems like just as good a reason. How much extra credit do you want? How much do you feel you need? How about a point on your final average for every week you were pregnant?
Good stuff. He ends his piece with a question to his fellow professors:
Do you ever think about the consequences of teaching students that there are no absolutes and that there is no free will? Do you see any link between these teachings and their refusal to accept your answers as right and theirs as wrong? Do you see any link between these teachings and their refusal to take any responsibility for their actions?
Secular college is a breeding ground for liberal thinking. It is said that "Those that can, do. Those that can't, teach." People incapable of successfully putting their education and training into practice decide they can teach others. So is it any wonder that academia is full of liberals like Ward Churchill? Sitting at the top of their little food chain they dictate leftist dribble and it becomes law to the thousands of minds they influence over their careers. Like the hypocrites they are, the liberal academians claim their institutions foster free thinking and free exchange of ideas. In reality only liberal doctrine is encouraged. Conservative thinking is not only discouraged but ridiculed. So what we wind up with is another generation of victims who think that they are entitled to whatever they want and the world will give it to them if they have just the right excuse.

But there is more. He suggested in his column:
My ClashPoint is this: Concerned parent: do a quick check on www.sexualoffenders.com and get ready to get freaked out about how many live a few doors down from you.
I did and I was. I put in just my zip code and eight names came up. That was quite an eye opener. I am going to do some more research. I urge you to do the same. And I am also going to follow Mr. Giles suggestion about NOT hiding and being afraid. I am going to give these predators cause to fear.
Another area man tried to tell a judge how sorry he was about raping his 10-year-old daughter repeatedly. He said he never meant to steal her childhood. It was obviously a written statement that someone else wrote because he couldn't even recite it without stumbling over the words. The jury sentenced him to 23 years. The judge threw out the sentence and gave the man 30 years saying the man obviously thought of his little girl as his lover. I applaud the judge's wisdom in this instance.
A third man has been charged with felonious assault. He shook his baby son so hard he suffered brain damage and is in a PVS.
News like this is becoming more commonplace. It shouldn't. We should be getting better right? We live in the richest, freest, most powerful society in the world. Why then are people becoming more depraved? It is because we are turning our backs on God. We are allowing godless liberal Moonbats to legislate God out of public school and government. You can see the effect in the news everyday. Just like shadow is the absence of light, cold is the absence of heat, evil is the absence of God.
We as conservatives and Christians need to increase our efforts to turn this trend of Godlessness in America around. The liberals are at the helm and they are driving us straight over the edge into the abyss. And they are very happy about doing it.
Monday, April 25, 2005
So how do you combat an enemy whose primary weapon is lies? (I am referring to liberals not the terrorists). I used to be of the opinion that if you hit a moonbat hard enough with the truth they would have to see the light. I am starting to believe that like their namesakes, moonbats are blind and can't actually see anything. The whole quagmire meme is wearing thin and has been disproved at all levels by U.S. success and Iraqi political progress. Why can't the liberals simply admit they are wrong?
The topic was "When are you saved?" This is a very important issue to have settled. I strongly advise anyone reading this to have it settled TODAY!
How do you settle it? Here are some verses form the King James Bible:
HOW TO BE SAVED
BELIEVE YOU ARE A LOST SINNER
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God:" Romans 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord "Romans 6:23
BELIEVE JESUS DIED FOR YOU
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us "Romans 5:8
BELIEVE GOD WILL SAVE YOU
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved " Romans 10:13
Is it really that simple? Yes. You see the there is a difference between salvation and conversion. Salvation takes just a moment that is why Jesus commanded us, as Christians, to all go out and share the Gospel. So when one of us fundies knocks on your door and asks "If you died today are you 100% sure you'd go to Heaven and if not would you like to be?" It is because we really believe you can make that decision in a moment. Just like the woman at the well, just like the thief on the cross, just like the Philipian jailer, and just like the Ethiopian eunuch.
Conversion takes longer. It makes since when you think about. You get saved and unless you are in the middle of a church service somewhere, 1 minute later you may not know all the commandments, the Thou Shalts and Thou Shalt Nots... Learning them takes time. Before we can have a walk with the Lord, we have to know Him first. This is where I think many churches fall short and where the confusion arises. It is important to help newly-saved people get on the right path in their new journey. Get them into a good church where they learn the Bible and how to apply it to their lives. If you don't they will miss being used of Jesus and not know the victory of living a surrendered life. I think that there are a lot of good religious people out there who try to walk the walk and talk the talk but they have never taken the first step. They don't know Jesus. They missed their moment because they thought it was too easy or they didn't believe Jesus would take them as they were and they needed to "clean up their act" before getting saved. If you are one of these people I cannot stress this enough. IT REALLY IS THAT EASY! And you are saved the moment you believe.
One committee member, Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., was asked if he
thought Bolton should withdraw from consideration. "I would hope he would," Dodd
told CBS' "Face the Nation." "I think he's going to embarrass the president. I
think he's going to ... have a very difficult job serving if he's confirmed
narrowly by the Senate. He should withdraw or the president ought to withdraw
So what Dodd is saying is that unless Bolton has overwhelming support of the senate he won't do well as ambassador? Why is that? Since when does the senate affect the job performance of the U.N. Ambassador after he is installed?
The truth is Bolton's "America First" attitude is an anathema to the America-hating, U.N.-loving liberalcrats. Bolton's views and demeanor threaten the left's overall plan to emasculate the United States in foriegn affairs and suck up to that scandal-ridden corrupt collection of Useless Nitwits. So far his only sin is he yelled at an aide. This makes him unsuitable for U.N. Ambassador? Well I can see how it might make the French cry and run home but I don't see it as a fatal flaw. The left is really grasping at straws.
I am so tired of the politics of obstructionism. We The People elected a Repulican President, a Republican dominated, Senate and a Republican dominated House. It stands to reason that a Republican agenda should be promoted. And yet the Democrats feel the need to obstruct this agenda to preserve the madness they have passed into law over the past 40 years. Apparantly "majority rules" only applies until they are no longer the majority. It is sickening and childish.
Now I know it isn't all the Democrats fault concerning Bolton, I have a bone to pick with the Honorable George Voinavich. I was not at all pleased that he forced the delay of the confirmation after he didn't even bother to attend the two day hearing the week before. No wonder he has people taking him to task about it. I'll certainly remember Mr. Voinovich's actions come 2006. Why don't they just call a vote and get on with it. Then we can move on to important things like finally getting decent federal judges approved.
I'll take "U.N. Ambassador Candidates who the Liberals hate" for $400

This has happened before. I have dreamt that I was writing VB code, RPG lll code, and COBOL code, all after various projects at work. But they were usually projects with deadlines and I was under pressure to get code done. Am I feeling pressure to post? I don't think so. At least not on a conscious level. Some of my favorite blogs are not updated daily so when I decided I was going to do this I made it a point NOT to pressure myself into daily posts. But who knows? Maybe deep down inside I want to post daily. Or maybe I had too much to eat before bed

Bill wakes up at home with a huge hangover. He forces himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins and a glass of water on the side table. He sits down and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pressed. Bill looks around the room and sees that it is in a perfect order, spotless, clean. So's the rest of the house. He takes the aspirins and notices a note on the table "Honey, breakfast is on the stove, I left early to go shopping. Love you."
So he goes to the kitchen and sure enough there is a hot breakfast and the morning newspaper. His son is also at the table, eating.
Bill asks, "Son, what happened last night?"

So why is it that when anything like this occurs, Catholics always see "The Virgin Mary". Why don't they ever see Britney Spears or Cher? Why in, er... I guess it would be in Mary's name would an alleged holy event manifest itself as a salt stain on a highway overpass?
"We believe it's a miracle," said Elbia Tello, 42. "We have faith, and we can see her face."Does this "miracle" truly test the faithful? Nah, ain't buyin' it.
First the Bible makes it clear that only Jesus is the way. Worshipping Mary is forbidden so anything promoting Mary as co-redeemer or as answerer of prayers must, logically, not be of God. Salt stain miracles shaped like the Madonna fall nicely into that same category.
Secondly, why do they keep referring to her as "The Virgin Mary?" The virgin birth of Christ is a Biblical doctrine. However after the Saviour (note use of correct seven letter spelling) was born, Mary and Joseph, "got busy". Mary gave birth to several children after Jesus. Half-brothers James and Jude and many sisters were mentioned in the Gospels. Children are a blessing upon a marriage and you don't think God would have further blessed Mary and Joseph after they were part of fulfilling messianic prophesies?
I think this fuss over a salt stain really reflects badly on all Christians not just Catholics.
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago had not received any requests to authenticate the image, spokesman Jim Dwyer said.So there no official Catholic response on the phenomenon but what are they going to say. "Yep! That's her! Hail Mary!"
"These things don't happen every day," Dwyer said. "Sometimes people ask us to look into it. Most of the time they don't. (The meaning) depends on the individual who sees it. To them, it's real. To them, it reaffirms their faith."
Besides I thought it was Lot's wife that was turned into a pillar of salt and it wasn't a good thing.
In case you didn't notice, I have added Chris Muir's "Day by Day" comic strip to the blog. It is at the bottom but you do NOT have to scroll all the way there to enjoy Chris's work. Simply use the "Comics" link in the links section to the right. Instant gratification!
Of course AP reused 80% of yesterdays' article and added a couple of color comments. My favorite is
Evelyn Strauch, a 54-year-old housewife from Ratzinger's home state of Bavaria, buried her head in her hands and wept as she stood in St. Peter's.
"This can't be true," she said. "I had hoped so much that we would get a good pope who would do something for women. ... This is so terrible."
It didn't take long for the left to come out against Benedict XVI. Words like Nazi were used to describe the new pontiff. Well I am no Catholic but I believe that whomever is pope has a tremendous amount of power. It would be best for the whole world if the guy was a good, moral, stable person. I think BXVI fits that bill. Besides if this many leftist oppose his being pope, I am all for him.

Wow! they didn't drag this one out. Only two popes were chosen more quickly then Benedict XVI. I will anxiously await the color commentary on why BXVI was such a shoe-in, I don't know anything about him other than what is in print.
I am encouraged by the fact that he is a hardliner. But his age suggests that many don't expect him to reign(?) very long. Could the overall strategy be to transition the church from traditional values to more modern, liberal beliefs? By electing a series of short-term popes they could very easily move away from fundamental doctrines within a generation or two, a move many believe necessary to reclaim masses of ex and liberal catholics.
UPDATE: A Small Victory has "Five other names Considered by the Pope" A must see.

Cardinal Biffi, emeritus bishop of the archdiocese of Bologna, was recently listed as a 125-to-1 long shot to succeed John Paul II.
But does Pinnacle know something we don't?
The paper reports that as an influx of "bets were placed on Biffi in the past several days, the odds on the 76-year-old Italian had dropped to 50 to 1 by Wednesday."
I find this article fascinating for a three reasons. First it states the likelihood of Cardinal Giacomo Biffi becoming Pope in gambling odds. Is there nothing people won't bet on? Oh I’m sure that many good Catholics are betting on the Pope because they lost so much money on John Paul ll "dead pools" over the years. He sure knew how to cling to life. But I still am not sure about this whole betting thing. I believe gambling is sin and many Catholics will tell me the same thing, right before they leave for BINGO duty. Benny Hinn placed a bet but he thinks he has an in. He’s arranging for God to fix the election.
Biffi is strongly anti-Masonic. He was quoted as saying Catholic churches should ban Mozart's music, as the composer was a Mason. The Church and the Masonic movement have long had an antagonistic relationship.
The second thing I found fascinating was this man’s beliefs about the Masons and the anti-Christ. They mirror my own for the most part and yet I can’t find a Catholic who believes the same way. Obviously Biffi is more conservative than many of his peers. I think that will hurt his chances since the pendulum is due to swing the other way, away from the conservative stands of JPll.
In recent years Biffi stirred controversy by saying Italy should "protect its national identity" and stop the avalanche of Muslim immigrants.(Emphasis mine)
In 2000, Biffi predicted that "Europe will either become Christian again or it will become Muslim." He added ominously., "The vast majority of Muslims are coming here determined to remain outside our humanity."
Lastly I like what this guy has to say about Europe and Islam. He points out what the heads-in-the-sand leftist happily ignore. Islam and Christianity are mutually exclusive beliefs. People who choose to be Muslim have no intention or desire to coexist peacefully with Christians and Jews. Europe is nurturing a viper in its bosom. It is only a matter of time before it bites them. Sadly the same could be said about America too. Christians are going to have to take a stand and take it soon.

Today I often feel like Dane Bramage. When I see things like the near election of JF Kerry for president, the coddling of Islamofacists for the sake of political correctness, anti-war protestors hindering armed forces recruiters, and the court-ordered starving of a helpless woman, I believe that the world has the wrong view on things. Like I said earlier I am trying to get a feel for this blog thing. So in order to test the a technical aspect, am posting this.
Today I had to pick up my brother-in-law. He's been dead for three weeks so understandably he had nothing to say. He lost a lot of weight too. All of it water. He was cremated and I went to the funeral home to get his ashes. I wasn't expecting a little white box with a self adhesive label. His name was typed out very neatly on the label. I sat him on the front passenger seat and while I drove back to work my mind kept jumping from how he looked the last time he sat in that seat alive (3 ½ weeks ago) and what he looked like now. Weird. I didn't open the box. I will give it to his daughter but I doubt if she will open it. I suspect he will be put up until a more appropriate container is purchased or until curious little rug rats are old enough to know not to scatter Grandpa all over the carpet.
On Thursday, Bush _ eager to remain out of the limelight and keep the focus on
the pope met privately with Italian leaders and U.S. Catholic leaders in town for the funeral.
I am so glad that Jimmy Carter didn't get invited. I am more than just a little annoyed at his grand standing lately. He seems to have forgotten the unwritten rule about former Presidents not bad mouthing sitting Presidents. I think Mr. Carter would have taken the opportunity to talk up a storm in Rome criticizing President Bush's administration yet again. He has been such a spotlight whore lately I think he would have tried to detract some attention to himself, unlike our President who always kept in mind the purpose for the trip.
UPDATE: Well it appears Carter was invited but declined. Then several moonbats made it seem like Carter was forced to decline by being led to believe there was no room. Again they blame Bush.
To say the Pope is powerful is like saying Ingvar Kamprad has a little money. So who the next Pontiff will be should be on everybody’s mind. He will be the one who defines what is spiritual for millions of people worldwide. So what if he’s… evil?
It is no secret that many Christian denominations (other than Catholicism which many argue isn’t Christian) believe that the anti-christ will be a pope. Many Christians, myself included, believe the anti-christ will be black. So if the College of Cardinals elects, say Cardinal Francis Arinze of Nigeria we could be looking at the end of the world. Given the level of debauchery and liberal lunacy that is prevalent today it would not be a bad thing. I am personally looking forward to the Millennium.
